Chapped Lip Saviour

Winter is coming and that means a drop in temperature and cold winds. Not good if you suffer from chapped lips. Anyone who does will know what a pain it is(literally!) and how hard it is to find a good lip balm. My lips are usually chapped all year round unfortunately and it's hard to find a good lip balm. I have tried Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, La Roche Posay Lip Balm, Burts Bees, Blistex you name it I've tried it and haven't found anything that has helped in the long term.

Until I got this gem from Penny's for €1.50! I have been using this the last few weeks now and I actually think it's the best one I've used, it leaves lips sooo soft and gives them a lovely sheen, it's long wearing so you don't need to keep re applying it and it's vanilla flavoured! I love it!

*Top Tip: Use an old toothbrush to remove any dead skin from your lips then apply your fav lip balm for super soft lips!

Hope this helps if you suffer from chapped lips too. :-)

Real Techniques Beauty Blender

Hi all! Today I am reviewing Real Techniques Beauty Blender. I actually bought this months ago, used it once or twice and really didn't like it so I didn't use it again until a few weeks ago when I said I would give it another go and see if my opinion had changed.

It has a precision tip for easy coverage of blemishes and imperfections, a flat edge for the contours of the eyes and nose and rounded sides for the flat areas of the face.

I am now in LOVE with this and it's all I use for applying my foundation. The only thing I've done differently this time around is use it damp. I run it under water right before I want to use it and squeeze out the excess water. It has made such a difference, it makes your foundation look flawless and it doesn't soak up all the product either like some beauty blenders do and it feels sooo soft!

I use a dabbing/pressing motion when I use this, it saves a lot of time also as you don't have to spend extra time buffing your foundation for a flawless finish as you would with a foundation brush. It's great for applying concealer, cream blushes or cream hilighters and even for contouring.  I personally prefer using this when damp for better results. I also love it for freshening up your makeup throughout the day, put it in your handbag, dampen it and dab it on your face to keep your skin looking fresh all day!

I wash this after every use to avoid bacteria building up.

It can be bought in Boots for €5.89 which is a great price seeing as you would pay a lot more for a good foundation brush.

Cheryl Smokey Purple Eye

I'm loving Cheryl's makeup on this years Xfactor! She is known for loving a brown/gold smokey eye but she changed it up recently by choosing a purple smokey eye instead. Purple is especially nice on brown and green eyes, it really makes them pop. Here is my version of her look, I will include a pic of the eye makeup I used to create it! Hope you like it.

Botanics Facial Loofahs

I ran out of my usual exfoliator and went into boots to get a new one and I seen these for €4 so said I would give them a go. There is 5 in the pack which is really good value.

Each one is around the size of a cotton wool pad and is made up of natural plant fibres. Once wet they swell up, you can apply your usual cleanser directly onto it or else straight onto your face, start in the center of your face and massage in upward, circular motions. This gets the blood flowing to the surface of your skin. Rinse off as normal and you will be left with really soft, bright skin. So far I prefer these to liquid/cream exfoliatiors, my skin feels really clean after using these. Leave the pad to dry naturally, it will harden up again ready for the next use.

If you have combination or oily skin you could use these once a week and if you have normal or sensitive skin once a month will do. You do not want to over exfoliate as it can strip the skin of its natural oils causing dryness and even lead to breakouts.

I'm really liking these at the moment and personally find I get a deeper clean than a regular exfoliating cream, I will def be repurchasing these!

La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water

La Roche-Posay is actually the name of a village in France, in the heart of the village lies a thermal spring water with beneficial properties for the skin. Its world famous due to its Selenium rich spring water, which is particularly beneficial to the skin.

Thermal Spring Water is rich in minerals and carbon dioxide. It is a type of mineral water which is naturally pure and rich in mineral salts, iodine and CO2, thermal water is recognized for its therapeutic properties, especially those that concern the skin.

If you have dry/sensitive skin this product is for you. It is perfect for daily use and can be used to soothe and soften sensitive skin, refresh the skin after cleansing and hydrate skin.  It contains selenium which is a powerful antioxidant that helps prevent and reduce the signs of ageing.

If you suffer from eczema, rosacea, or psoriasis you will know that feeling of tight, dry, itchy skin a mist of this thermal spring water will really soothe that feeling. Overtime you should see an improvement in the overall feel and appearance of your skin.

I mist it on in the morning before I moisturise and after I cleanse in the evening. It's a great skin refresher for before makeup application and is great to use throughout the day to keep your makeup looking fresh.

I love this product and would highly recommend it for dry/sensitive skin or normal skin that needs a pick me up throughout the day! I picked this up in Molloys Pharmacy Ballina for €9.50, they have a large selection of La Roche-Posay products. Have you used this before?
